With flexible start dates throughout the year students can volunteer with iSPiiCE from 2 weeks up to 3 months depending on available time and through their experiences on the program students will gain greater insights into world diversity and develop a better understanding of the issues affecting developing nations.

Student volunteering experience with iSPiiCE

Annie Hejny iSPiiCE Volunteer India"Volunteering with iSPiiCE was more than a service experience- it impacted my perspective on the life that I live. I was exposed to children who have wonderful personalities and a strong desire to learn. The work I was doing, in both the classroom and at the day care, was powerful. The students responded well to the volunteers and were excited when we arrived in their classroom every morning. In the afternoons, I was painting in a village daycare and we were often joined by the young students as they returned home from a day at school. They watched us paint and would count out loud with us in both English and Hindi. A beautiful exchange of simple words brought us together every time they stopped by. We could point to the pictures and letters and repeat after each other in our own languages. This kind of authentic cultural exchange happened because of iSPiiCE. The staff was so generous and caring. I could sit and talk with them about my life at home, their lives and it was fun to find commonalities. We were welcomed, respected and trusted with iSPiiCE and I would absolutely return to volunteer if that is where my life takes me. Thank you Varun, Vineet, Neeraj! Thank you for everything you do for the women, children and commuinty of Dharamshala."
